How to Join
You can join for free as either –
1. As a single member/household

or
2. a member of a group of neighbours called a ‘scheme’ or ‘group’. You can become a coordinator, simply a point of contact, who would be the contact person for your group of neighbour members within the one scheme. See Role of Coordinator. Many schemes have assistants or deputies to help make sure the scheme stays active and keep everyone connected.
(2) This is the recommended approach to take because it lets you be part of a neighbourhood, you would be one of several neighbours who support each other, helping neighbour members to feel more able to cope with local issues, crime and anti-social behaviour for example. This can reduce isolation, loneliness and frustration in getting problems solved. It’s proven to be the most effective approach by taking this group/scheme approach.

Each area of the UK has Neighbourhood Watch admins known as MSA’s – Membership Support Administrators – the Peterborough area has its own MSAs who run and manage the local Peterborough area section of the national database called Neighbourhood Alert. They can accept and approve your registration online. Should you be registering as a Coordinator for a new scheme then it is subject to approval by a Peterborough based MSA. A new scheme/group should, ideally have at least 5 members registered, clearly, getting more members when you can and get them linked to your scheme is a very positive approach. MSAs are here to help and assist you. To make contact simply email the Peterborough team at support@nwpeterborough.org.uk or phone us on 07474 002 392 available 10am to 4pm daily. Messages may be left for us to contact you.
